he’s winning the battle like a champ. he never complained, always showed up at the hospital early, and still went to work in his taxi even after chemo and immunotherapy sessions nothing makes me prouder and happier than seeing my dad in a taxi ❤️ papa, 辛苦你了

but covid-19 wasn’t much of a life altering event. sure, driving around empty streets and taking home $60/night sucks but to him, it beats sitting at home and doing nothing. what’s life changing is his battle with stage IV lung cancer, diagnosed in March 2018

dad is unofficially retired, he’s still driving cos he loves it…and to fund his shopping sprees on Shopee and Lazada (Amazon-esque sites) 🤣 boy did he really embrace technology!

as a kid i would be ashamed of dad’s job as a taxi driver when my friends’ fathers were bankers, doctors, etc i later learnt that it didn’t matter – he worked hard (12hrs, 7 days a week), provided for us, and was supportive of everything we did. i’m proud to have a dad like him
