Cologne, Germany
Joined June 2014
A very nice PI and nice place for research. Read our papers and send your application.
#icmpmi2019 I will start my new lab at Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China from Sep 2019. I am recruiting postdocs to explore new research no one has gone before, together with me and other lab members. Pls send me your CV and motivation letter.

I am happy to share new progress on the apoplastic mediated immunity on microbiota in #ICMPMI2019 Apoplastic section.
Arabidopsis SAP proteases are secreted to the apoplast where they inhibit growth of Pseudomonas syringae by cleaving the bacterial MucD protein @Kenichi_Tsuda @MPIPZ_Yiming

It is very interesting when I thought about my paper: A Chinese in Japanese group working in Germany published this paper😂. Just a joke. I absolutly feel better when people could remember at least which group this paper came from.
Is it just me or do you also hate it when speakers say this was done/published by a Chinese group or Japanese group or German group etc. These scientists have names and their identities are defined by much more than a host country #scienceisglobal

TGIF, and our paper is online now. I think I do need a beer. Thank you @Kenichi_Tsuda @aglernino @EKemen @nobolly @mpipz_cologne and all people contribute to this work.
I am happy to see our new paper on line at @NatureComms. https://t.co/DRTBBaAbHT We show that plant secreted proteases cleave a bacterial protein thereby suppressing growth of bacterial pathogens. Congrats @MPIPZ_Yiming @nobolly @aglernino @EKemen

Fun fact: none of the 3 new postdocs (including myself) in our lab, all fresh PhD in plant biology, has an experience in generating transgenic plants.

Really happy to see the work was finally accepted after such a long time. Thank you everyone for helping me so much!
Paper accepted! Congratulations! @MPIPZ_Yiming We show that site-specific cleavage of bacterial MucD by secreted proteases mediates antibacterial resistance in Arabidopsis. Thanks also your contributions @aglernino, @Kemen_Lab, @EKemen, @nobolly

Star wars in the apoplast.
This has to count as the most beautiful thesis cover. Ever. Well done @xiaolin422 @VivianneTwit #apoplasticeffectors #plantpath #plantsci #Immunity
