Deadline EXTENDED! The deadline for abstracts for the Symptom Science competitive symposium and the combined competitive symposium developed in conjunction with the Palliative and End of Life Care RIG are now due 7/25 and 7/24 respectively. We would love to see your work!

As I am sure most of you have heard, the MNRS conference will go ahead as planned but will be on-line instead of in person. That means we all get to enjoy hearing about the wonderful research of our colleagues, but now we get to stay in our pajamas!

Dr. Hacker's current pilot work is testing feasibility and preliminary effects of a free-living physical activity intervention on fatigue, functional ability, muscle strength, physical activity, and QoL in people with multiple myeloma treated with stem cell transplantation.

Dr. Fortney just completed a K23 from NINR that found differences in perceptions of symptom expression between mothers and fathers, as well as White and non-White parents. She is also the Chair Elect for the Symptom Science RIG and is running for MNRS secretary.

Dr. Fortney is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Nursing where she studies symptom trajectories and medical burden in infants in the NICU, and effect of parent perceptions on decision-making, coping, and distress.
