Meet Lorraine Krause, a U.S. Army Nurse in Europe in WWII. She served in France in 1944-1945 and then made her way to Japan. Did you know: nurses held officers' ranks, but were paid less and held lower ranks. This only changed in June 1944. #IWD2025

Félix Peters leaves 🇱🇺 in 1941. In 1944, he is part of "Commando Kieffer" of the Free French Naval Forces. He lands near Ouistreham on D-Day. The unit is involved in heavy fighting and in mid-June, Peters is KIA near Amfreville, seemingly in a friendly fire incident. #dday80

This French M1822 light cavalry sabre was cunningly stolen from passing French soldiers in Kaundorf in 1918 by 13 year old Pierre Majerus. Via his nephew, it has now found its way to the museum's collection. Check our Facebook/Insta profiles for the full story.
