ChoKyun Rha was the first Asian woman awarded tenure at MIT. As a food technologist, she published over 200 articles and held over 20 patents. Rha earned four degrees at MIT and began her career at the Institute in 1974 as an Associate Professor, earning tenure in 1980 #MITWHM

In 1929, Li Fu Lee was the 1st woman of Asian descent to graduate from MIT. Soon after enrolling at MIT, Lee was elected as the social committee chairman of the Chinese Students’ Club, where she was the first and, at the time, the only woman in the club! #WHM2024

OGE GradDiversity had the pleasure of welcoming students from Binghamton University to campus! Dr. Noelle Wakefield presented a workshop on navigating graduate admissions, followed by a lively Q&A with MIT grad students and a tour of our campus highlighting MIT's McNair building!
