Division Two champions Northfield Town confirm planning permission for floodlights was the issue behind them not going up They cite FA being "contacted by another club that also applied for promotion", saying "they couldn't promote us" due to "possible legal ramifications" 😲

Yeah. MFL Two is a feeder league, Prem and One are in the FA-run National League System, which you have to apply to join/win promotion to As part of that, you need planning permission for and a plan in place to install floodlights. That looks to have been Northfield's issue

This will please many at Lichfield, just far enough east to be included in the Midland Division - a better fit than the West
