Today I cheat (slightly) in my French Noir #noirvember with "Compartiment Tueurs" from Costa-Gavras (1965). It's only 50% noir, the rest is a taut thriller. Forgive me, it's just too good, with a cast to die for.

Continuing the French Noir for #Noirvember. Louis Malle's "Ascenseur pour l'échaffaud" (1958). As inescapable as being stuck in a lift. Part Greek tragedy part theater of the absurd, and Jeanne Moreau's voice over riffing with Miles Davis's soundtrack.

Today at the Garage we're featuring an excellent story from @jdclappwrites "Wounded” isn’t about hunting — it’s about what happens when doing the right thing comes with a price you don't expect. Check it out: https://t.co/heU4UoXeTl 🎸📷 #LitGarage #ShortStory #Wilderness

Kick off Thursday with cool short fiction from @NathanBorn2010 "Slaves and Scammers" has a blend of voices ranging from Donald Westlake to Hunter Thompson with some Charles Willeford but still distinct & unique. Appropriately current too. Read it here: https://t.co/xnGp6Lj9mV

A true French Noir classic for #Noirvembre today with "Le Corbeau" by Henri-Georges Clouzot. Filmed in 1943 during the Occupation. A sulphurous, cynical, ambiguous masterpiece. Banned in France until 1947, when Clouzot was again allowed to make movies.

We're back with a story that hits the high end of gritty American realism from @mike_mchone. Love the fatalism, the stripped down moral compass & cinematic flow. A distinct, hardboiled neo-noir voice Check it out for yourself: https://t.co/ixojPfc3QR 🎸📚 #flash #fiction #noir

Today's #NoirvemberChallenge French Noir rec. is "Classe Tous Risques" (1960, Claude Sautet). Written by master Jose Giovanni. Perfect ... hardboiled and a heartbreak. Highly highly recommended. Note that all these films are online, just dig a little.
