I greatly appreciated that Ed saw the tremendous value that mentoring can add to efforts to reduce recidivism. He felt that meaningful relationships were a real missing ingredient in justice work, especially for youth in the system. Condolences to Ed's family on their loss.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Edward Latessa, the renowned criminologist at the U of Cincinnati. Ed was the very first guest I recorded for my podcast many years ago. Had a wonderful chat about the intersection of mentoring and the justice system.
