Thank you to the CCF, Chaplain, Choir, Captain Brooks, Mr Bush, Mr Arkwright, Mr Butterfield and senior pupils for two moving Services of Remembrance at the College this morning.

Congratulations to the girls of Elmhurst on winning the hotly contested Inter-House Harmony Competition on Thursday evening. Competitors from all 16 Houses should feel immensely proud of their efforts.

I am delighted to see our Prefects taking the lead by organising a series of events as part of Black History Month. Wednesday’s Caribbean Theme Night in Norwood was a wonderful, inclusive occasion for pupils and staff.

The whole Marlborough community is delighted for our Upper Sixth as they receive their hard-won results today and prove ready and prepared to take their exciting and ambitious next steps. They have role modelled the true values of a Marlborough full boarding education.

Congratulations to newly appointed Senior Prefects, James F and Milly G, who join Will S as Senior Prefects for the Michaelmas Term 2024.

I wish them well for the year ahead and congratulate them on all that they have achieved.

The 2024/25 Prefect Team gathered for the first time this morning for a meeting with Mr Carroll (Head of Upper Sixth), Mr Thompson (College Proctor) and myself to sign the College register and receive their badges, ties and scarves.

His service to the College was exceptional and valued by all who had the pleasure to work alongside him. Our thoughts are with his family.

The Marlborough community is saddened to hear of the recent passing of Sir (Percy) James ‘Jim’ Butler aged 95. Jim had been a pupil at the College in the 1940s and was a long standing and esteemed member of Council from 1975 and Chair from 1992-2001.

Huge congratulations to the U16A hockey girls and to Mr Meehan-Staines and Mr Hughes on their National Plate Final success. The Marlborough community is incredibly proud of them.

Thanks so much to our sister school, @MarlboroughMCM, for hosting a group of our Marlborough UK Shell for the next few weeks. A wonderful opportunity, and such a privilege to welcome the MCM Shell over to Wiltshire.
