A recent MAQI2 study found that a quarter of patients experiencing a serious bleed while on oral anticoagulation permanently stopped anticoagulation. In these patients, only one-third had discussions about left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO).

Interesting findings from a recent MAQI2 paper: In spite of guidelines recommending urological referral for hematuria , only 1 out of 3 patients were referred. Of those referred and having cystoscopy, 1 out of 4 had newly diagnosed urological CA.
