Thinking this is 100% reasonable. As professionals we should be part of professional organizations that impact our students. Individuals can still determine their level of involvement from ensuring peers are members to attending a webinair to running for a leadership position.
#PhysEd Ts > Is this too harsh? "We believe every PE teacher in the United States owes it to themselves and to our profession to join their State SHAPE and to make it better! If you cannot do this, you are short-changing our profession and the children and youth you serve!"

The portability of the laminated page is ideal for many of our #AdaptedPE peers who travel school to school.
Routines are essential for all students & critical for #AdaptedPE I use a laminated page with the day’s elements laid out that we check off as we go along. Every lesson has the same flow, no surprises. Bear part is when the 👨🎓 start reminding the teacher about next elements.

I'm happy to share this new research, with Otávio Furtado and Roberta Gaspar from the University of Sao Paulo, where we explored how adapted physical activity faculty perceive active learning strategies. The paper is online (50 free copies) here: https://t.co/QBOXSo8c0V

A formal doesn’t mean a more valid assessment. It's often the opposite! We need to need to give students options to show what they know. #LeadInclusion #Assessment #EduSky #UDL #EdChat

This could be really helpful for some to illustrate the steps most students may need to build competence and feel successful. Interested to see where this goes...
For #AdaptedPE & #Physed🧑🎓 I've seen quick progressions in classes from skill work to full sided competitive games. To better ground myself & support others I'm working on a hierarchy of challenge. Thoughts? (It's a little rough, only a 1st draft) https://t.co/iQ67eS5hnF

♥️ the student voice approach to this effort.
These first weeks when working w/ older #AdaptedPE students I try to create greater buy-in by asking what goals they want to work towards. It can take some time but it's worth it when students later sees their voice matters when I incorporate these into lessons.
