My WCCO Radio weather retirement hat is on again.... How dry we are! Officially in the Twin Cities, there's only been .48" of rain since September 1st at the MSP airport. With no rain in the immediate forecast, this will be the driest September-October since 1952, 70 years ago!

My WCCO Radio hat is back on today. Late in the afternoon and early evening we'll have thunderstorms. Very likely is that some of these thunderstorms will be severe with damaging winds over 60mph and possible tornados. Don't take this lightly. Stay tuned to CCO Radio 830 all day

Great seeing you on Tuesday. Weather fact time. If we get more than 8.9 inches of snow with this storm it’ll be the biggest snowfall since April 13-15, 2018!

Tonight and tomorrow night they'll be a nice celestial hugging between the very bright planet Venus and the new crescent moon very early in the evening, becoming visible toward the end of evening twilight. Venus is so bright now because it's less than 56 million miles from Earth

In the last week generally 4-6 inches of rain. In many areas of the Twin Cities metro and surrounding area. In many places that's as much or more rain than fell from June 1st to August 21st. Can you say relief!!!! It's nice to report good news wearing my WCCO Radio weather hat!

The Perseid meteor shower continues again tonight....Maybe not as many meteors. Lay back in a reclining lawn chair and roll your eyes all around the sky, slightly favoring the northeast sky. Best seen after midnight.. Good Luck!

As a bonus to the Perseid meteor shower, they'll be a lovely celestial hugging early this evening between the new crescent moon and the bright planet Venus. The best time to watch the Perseids is after midnight.

The Perseid Meteor shower is upon us! The peak of the Perseids is this coming tonight into Thursday morning, August 11th-12th. In the darker skies after midnight you could easily see 50-100 meteors an hour. Even in urban skies. You could see more than 20 meteors an hour.
