Trolls & their latest modus operandi: a new vocabulary of banal words & symbols that are actually covert equivalents of offensive slurs. To counter this, @cis_india & @tattlemade have built a plugin that can detect such posts. Something that social media giants should have done.

I am volunteering with a Covid helpline. In multiple cases, patients are unable to make sense of the dashboards for finding beds, oxygen, meds etc. Age, literacy are factors. Is there any group making calls on behalf of patients? #covid19 #covidSOS

An oximeter costs Rs 1500. If you don't have an Oximeter yet, figure out who'd be available to give it to you on an urgent basis, if needed. But if you have the resources, please buy one.

List of individuals delivering food/groceries/meds in Delhi-Gurgaon. With the reminder that if you know someone who needs assistance, calling some of these numbers yourself first, in addition to sharing the contact details, could be very helpful:

3.1 You can only control things to a point. We know we were lucky that my parents pulled through. It is hard not to think of things one could have done differently to avoid what came to be. But we do need to move towards acceptance and practice empathy for others and ourselves.

3. The pedagogical tone should not imply that we got it all right. I am generally not one to operate with an 'over-abundance of caution'. But some other family members are. In this particular situation that caution was needed and saved us precious time.

2.3 Doctors are exhausted. Hospitals are overburdened and like all orgs have communication gaps. Don't rely on doctors/nurses to remember everything. Keep a tab on the course of treatment. It is better to over-share rather than accidentally miss an important medical detail.

2.2 In March 2020, we wrote down medical history of all family members and sent it on a common email. This helped in Dec. It is hard to remember the name of the one medicine your parent reacted to in a surgery in 1990s. Especially when you're stressed. Documentation is good.
