Hello new followers! A short thread with info about who you followed: I have a PhD in English Literature. My dissertation focused on the way that young readers interpret #Tolkien’s #LOTR. It was supervised by @Dr_Dimitra_Fimi, and is free online: https://t.co/3yzy3A0eDs 1/6

As someone who studies JRR Tolkien daily and extensively, I come to you from the other place to say: The owner of this platform has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to the works of JRR Tolkien.

Well @WaltDisneyWorld is quickly becoming the least magical place on earth. At check-in we were given a room without a view, despite the up-charge for a “premium view.” Now, an attempt to take a leisurely 20-minute monorail ride has turned into an hour-long fiasco.

As a part of this analysis, I developed the term "in-corporeal". I like the wordplay that it generates: being "incorporeal" when heard, but suggesting a double embodiment when read. I end by suggesting that maybe al in-corporeal characters are inherently trans* coded.

I was particularly interested in 1) whether or not each author participated in essentialism and to what extent, and 2) what interpretive room there was for trans* readings of these characters. (Note that I use Jack Halberstam's "trans*" rather than trans)

New publication! My conference paper from OMS is now online. In it, I discuss how liminal characters in Fantasy literature (esp. Tolkien and Lewis here) may be inherently trans* coded (I'll unpack this a bit in the thread): https://t.co/yX9dA7YXzU @mythsoc @Queer_Lodgings

Wow, this platform is so broken their ad targeting isn’t even close anymore. Which is ridiculous because they already had the data needed. So they must have regressed in their use of data they already have. If I were an advertiser, I would jump ship. Completely ineffective.
