The festival closes with 'One That Kept His Word', a portrait of A E Housman in songs & letters, unravelling the complex man behind āA Shropshire Ladā. Iain Burnside is joined by Bethany Horak-Hallett, Liam Bonthrone & Jolyon Loy, and Olivier Award-winning actor Alex Jennings.

Later in the evening, soprano Mhairi Lawson and lutenist Paula Chateauneuf share 17th century songs from England, Scotland & Italy, in 'Auld Lang Syne: Lute songs from the courts of King James VI and I', including music by Henry Purcell and Barbara Strozzi.

Rising star, baritone Andrew Hamilton returns to the UK from the Bayerische Staatsoper to open the festival, with our Artistic Director Iain Burnside at the piano. āHeartās Havenā features a cosmopolitan mix of English songs and songs in English, with an Italian flavour.
