I've never read The Fierce Bad Rabbit (& shd rectify my oversight immediately!) but I frequently think to myself when rdng Beatrix Potter aloud that for children's stories there is an unexpectedly macabre flavor because of her matter-of-fact acceptance of death as part of life.
Beatrix Potter wrote the original scary stories for babies - this horror tale of sibling rivalry is a gripping readaloud for #Halloween and they love it...!!! š„šš„ Find it here @lizza.aiken https://t.co/NKZQ4cglC2

There's no way to know which round of viral illness will be a trigger. It's so much easier to fix indoor air filtration and wear filtering masks where indoor air filtration quality is unknown or inadequate.

@patriarchysons I am currently reading George Marsden's book on the fundamentalists, and it's *mind-blowing* how many of the original fundamentalists would be considered liberals today. This was also the topic of the paper I wrote on Machen's "Christianity and Liberalism" at Westminster. š

@Saffiya_Khan1 @TrudiG @SkyNews @KamaliMelbourne I actively hated lockdowns, cried my way through them and felt I was neglecting my children while they were stuck at home and I tried to work. Would have that again forever, compared to what I have now, which is two chronically ill children with long covid who canāt function

On this day in 1893, Beatrix Potter, writing from Eastwood in Dunkeld, sent a picture letter to Noel Moore, the son of her former governess Annie Moore. Noel was ill, and Beatrix hoped to cheer him with a story. Within that letter appeared, for the very first time, Peter Rabbit.
