🧵Over 4 years ago, I filed a police complaint against the Halifax Regional Police due to their insufficient investigation, discriminatory actions, and apathy after reporting that I was the victim of a drugging, kidnapping, and gang rape by multiple strange men.

Join me in urging HRP to reconsider this decision. It's time to make accountability a reality. Survivors deserve nothing less. #SurvivorsForChange #EndViolenceAgainstWomen .#JusticeForSurvivors #VACR.#TransparencyAndAccountability.

HRP's refusal to implement VACR is not just disappointing-it's a betrayal of survivors and their right to justice. Halifax needs more than excuses; we need real action. Survivors deserve a justice system that listens, acts, and prioritizes their dignity, safety, and well-being. /

As a survivor and advocate for justice, I know firsthand how devastating systemic failures within policing can be. VACR offers a proven, survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach that rebuilds trust, ensures accountability, and fosters transparency. /

I'm angry, frustrated, exhausted, and devastated to be left without answers. The justice system keeps failing survivors, retraumatizing us at every turn. 6 year, 5 months, and one week later, it's over. Forever. Fuck the so-called 'justice' system!.

Today, I learned the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed the Crown's application for leave to appeal in my criminal case—without providing any reasons. "They receive hundreds of applications from across Canada every year, so they aren't required to explain each decision." /.

Nova Scotia has officially declared domestic violence an epidemic. This historic move follows the voices of brave advocates pushing Premier Tim Houston to act. Huge thanks to the tireless efforts of Unifor reps & all advocates. /.

The statement by the NS Police Review Board should be deeply concerning to all Nova Scotians, as it perpetuates victim-blaming narratives, dismisses institutional accountability, and fails to address systemic failures within policing in NS. /.
