Random thoughts about The Masters:
1.Scottie Scheffler is on a once in a thirty plus year kind of run. The number one player by a wide margin right now. Fun to watch.
2.Ludvig Aberg had a fantastic showing in his first major. Sure feels like he is going to win multiple majors.…
Scottie Scheffler has been ranked number one in the world for a combined 40 weeks.
To catch Tiger's record of combined weeks at number one...
...Scheffler needs to hold the top spot for another 12 years, 4 months and 3 weeks.
🤯🤯🤯
Scottie Scheffler has been ranked
#1
for 73 total weeks.
To catch Tiger's record of total weeks at

...
...Scheffler needs to hold the top spot, CONTINOUSLY, until October 21, 2035. 🤯🤯🤯
"Lets make a new driver."
"OK."
"We can call it The Sasquatch."
"Sounds good."
"Let's paint it bright yellow."
"I like where you are going with this."
"The head should be square and sound like you hit a metal garbage can with a sledgehammer."
"WE HAVE A WINNER!"

In over 1200 rounds of golf, Calvin Peete only hit one ball out of bounds.
One ball.
1200 rounds.
This is the most incredible stat in golf history. More incredible than any Tiger Woods stat.
Check out the video below from

Scratch players:
Average distance 3 wood is hit from fairway lie:
➡️220 yards
Average distance 3 wood is hit from fairway lie after waiting 5 minutes for green to clear:
➡️38 yards
Tiger Woods missed the green 22% of the time from 110 to 120 yards in the fairway.
Tiger is the GOAT and he missed the green more than one out of five times...
...yet some amateurs think they should never miss from that distance. 🤷

Scottie Scheffler has won 8 of his last 48 events.
Tiger had a stretch where he had 33 wins in 100 events.
In order for Sheffler to break 33 wins in 100 events...
He ONLY needs to win 26 of his next 52 events.
Tiger is the GOATiest of GOATS.
Thoughts:
1) Hovland is so good, and so incredibly likeable. Impossible not to root for him.
2) The Tour Championship needs a new format. I don't think match play is the answer.
3) Brooks in for Ryder Cup.
4) JT out for Ryder Cup.
5) East Lake should be called "Xander's…
A few random thoughts:
1. The Ryder Cup is incredible
2. USA has a bright future
3. Lowry is impossible to root against
4. Bryson is the most entertaining player in the game
5. Rahm is the best player in the world
6. Rory is the ambassador golf needs
Hey
@TigerWoods
,
You've given us countless incredible moments and memories for three decades. You are the GOAT. We are good if you want to sit this one out tomorrow.
Scottie Scheffler has been ranked
#1
in the world for 14 consecutive weeks.
He only has to keep that
#1
ranking for another 5 years and 7 weeks to catch Tiger's record of 281 consecutive weeks.
Jon Rahm has been ranked number one in the world for a combined 36 weeks.
To catch Tiger's record of combined weeks at number one, Rahm needs to hold the top spot for another 12 years, 5 months and 3 weeks.
Thoughts:
1. Happy for Clark. Great win!
2. RORY!
3. LACC is a cool track. 6 is amazing. Couple "iffy" holes
4. LACC should never host another USGA event
5. Scheffler is so good
6. Great to see Rickie playing well. He will win again
Some of my favorite Tiger stats.
Enjoy.
------------
Tiger from 1999 to 2009:
Percent of events he won:
➡️34%
Percent of events he finished 9th or worse:
➡️32%
Over a 10-year stretch, Tiger was more likely to win than finish 9th or worse.

Tiger had a 10…
In over 1200 rounds Calvin Peete only hit one ball OB.

This is the most incredible statistic in the history of professional golf.

"Tiger was the best in the world at hitting par 5 fairways."
- Zinger
From 1996 to 2021 there were 535 players that played at least 250 rounds.
Tiger ranks 389 out of 535 in par 5 fairway accuracy.
Last year was my first trip to
@TheMasters
and I was THRILLED to be there. Incredible experience.
For some reason (that is unknown to me), my wife was not as excited about my merch haul as I was.
I may or may not have had some explaining to do.
🤣🤣🤣
The left pic is Tiger Woods *trying* to hit one ball on the heel and one ball on the toe.
The right pic is me trying to hit the center of the face.
🤣🤣🤣
Scratch players:
Average 3-wood distance from fairway:
➡️220-yards
Average 3-wood distance from fairway after waiting five minutes for green to clear:
➡️38-yards
😃
If you are waiting for a par 5 green to clear with a 3 wood in your hand...
... and the wait is over 15 seconds, your chances of hitting the ball more than 80 yards is 0.0%.

About seven years from now the trunk of my car will look like the picture below.
I will be lurking in golf course parking lots...
"Hey man, you wanna try one of these? First one is free."
😎
Next year I’d like The Match to be:
Four amateurs in scramble format from the tips
vs.
Tour pro
Select the amateurs via lottery.
$100 per ticket. One entry only.
Donate all proceeds to charity.
This would raise A LOT of money.
Scottie Scheffler has been ranked number one in the world for a total of 18 weeks now.
To catch Tiger's record of 683 overall weeks at number one, Scheffler needs to hold the top spot for another 12 years, 10 months and 1 week.
Tiger was how good in 2000?
Take the 2022 leader in each strokes gained category:
Off-the-tee: Rahm (1.03)
Approach: Zalatoris (1.06)
Around-the-green: Kuchar (0.52)
Putting: Herbert (0.85)
Add them up = 3.46 per round.
In 2000 season, Tiger gained 3.83 per round. 🤯
Closing thoughts from The Open Championship:
1) Brian Harman put on a masterful performance. He ran away with it. Hats off for a dominating event!
2) I am not a fan of some of the things that were shouted at Harman. Rooting for your favorite player does not mean you should…
Must follow golf tips:
1. Mark your ball
2. Fix ALL your pitch marks
3. Replace ALL your divots
4. Play fast
5. Play tees appropriate for your length/skill
6. Have fun - it's a game
Tiger Woods missed the green 20% of the time from 100 to 110 yards in the fairway.
Tiger is the GOAT and he missed the green one out of five times, yet some amateurs think they should never miss from that distance.

Thoughts:
1. The country club is an INCREDIBLE track.
2. Thrilled to see Fitzy win.
3. Zalatoris keeps knocking. He will win a bunch.
4. Gonna be an interesting week for LIV. 👀
5. Scheffler continues to play seriously good golf.
6. USGA did great with setup.
Michael Block finished 15th.
At a major.
As a dude that does not play full time for a living.
He gave us a ton of incredible memories from the event, including an unreal ace and a heartwarming post-round interview.
And did I mention he finished 15th? At a major? That is…
Tiger was how good in 2000?
Strokes gained per round leaders from 2021:
Off-the-tee:
DeChambeau: 1.162
Approach:
Morikawa: 1.170
Around-the-green:
Na: 0.702
Putt:
Oosthuizen: 0.764
Add them all up = 3.80 per round
In 2000 season, Tiger gained 3.83 per round. 🤯
If you have a child that loves golf, the way Ludvig handled himself today is the example I would be guiding them towards.
I am so tired of the antics of some players.
You are not going to hit every shot perfect. Nobody does. Stop your moaning.
Looking at the skill gap between pros and amateurs is always fun.
This is something I always get a lot of questions about.
The Gap is HUGE
A lot of people are surprised the first time they see these numbers. I want to note that the gaps below are actually bigger than they…
When I started tweeting golf stats 4+ years ago, I didn't expect much.
I was:
- surprised at 1k followers
- shocked at 10k
I'm stunned I'm about to hit 100k.
This account has created opportunities I never dreamed of.
All because of you.
I sincerely thank you all. 🙏
Tiger's career make-rate from 7'0" to 8'11" is 52%.
The best player golf has ever known misses 48% of his putts from that range.
Why do some mid-handicap players think they should never miss an 8-footer? 🤷

Golf 10 Commandments:
1. Have fun
2. Play fast
3. Manage Expectations
4. Don't cheat
5. Play tees appropriate for your length/skill
6. Fix ALL pitch marks
7. Repair ALL divots
8. Rake bunker
9. Pay debts fast
10. Mark your ball (dots with sharpie)
What would you add?
Whenever the broadcast cuts to a player that is well down the leaderboard…
And that player has a 40+ foot putt…
The chances they make that putt is 100%.
😀🤓
Some info I am hearing.
Good source but these could be wrong.
➡️Tour waiting until players hit first shot tomorrow before announcing suspensions
➡️Suspensions will be years, not months
➡️Masters will ban LIV players
➡️LIV planning 15 events next year
Scratch players do NOT have a scoring average of even par.
A player with a 0.0 index on a par 72 with 71.5 rating and 131 slope will likely have a scoring avg between 74.5 and 75.5 over their last 20 rounds.
From what yardage in the fairway are players more likely to hit it outside 30 feet than inside 30 feet?
It doesn't matter if the ball finished on the green or not, just that it finished more than 30 feet from the hole.
The numbers:
Tour pro: 180 yards
Scratch: 122 yards
5…
Tiger from 1999 to 2009:
Percent of events he won:
➡️34%
Percent of events he finished 9th or worse:
➡️32%
Over a 10-year stretch, Tiger was more likely to win than finish 9th or worse.
Just remarkable.
🤯🤯🤯🤯
Average birdies per round:
Scratch players:
▶️2.2
20-handicap players:
▶️0.3
Scratch players are 20 shots better than 20-handicap player...
... yet they only make 1.9 more birdies per round.
Reduce the big numbers!
Data from
@ArccosGolf
When on a road trip does anyone else look at big areas of rolling land along the highway and say “wow, that is a great looking spot for a golf course.”?
With zero offense intended, I do not understand the people that say "I am not sure what I will do when I retire. Not sure how to fill all that time."
I'll tell ya what I'll be doing.
Playing golf ALL DAY EVERY DAY. 😍
Finished Full Swing last night.
Top three thoughts:
1) Was already a Dahmen fan. Now I'm a bigger Dahmen fan, and a Bonnalie fan too.
2) Rooting hard for Theegala to get a win.
3) Finau is an incredible golfer AND person. This is what a role model looks like.
To all those 4-handicap men that think they could “hang” with professional women golfers, I suggest you flip on the end of the Solheim cup.
You have zero chance of hanging with them. Zero. Actually less than zero.
You would get DESTROYED.
JT
0-2-1 going into Sunday.
According to DataGolf, so far Justin Thomas ranks 23rd out of 24 in cumulative strokes gained (-7.07).
Spieth ranks 24th at -9.65
Bryson:
"I designed my own irons with bulge in the face, received approval from the USGA, and had them 3D printed."
DJ:
"I like the yellow putter."
😀😀😀
It would be fantastic if Aberg and Homa waved up Scheffler and Morikawa and they played together as a foursome for the rest of the round.
An eye to eye heavyweight slugfest.
Sign me up.
At some point in his mid 50s, Tiger Woods will contend in, and likely win, a major.
Like Watson in 2009, but better.
