the takeaway isn’t “AI replaces engineers.” it’s that engineers (and product leaders) who can think clearly and work effectively with AI become massive force multipliers. engineering is no longer the bottleneck. product clarity and decision-making are.

a single prompt can read the repo, understand the existing architecture, generate a feasibility report, turn that into a PRD, write the technical spec, and then ship the code. this collapses what used to be weeks or months of product + engineering work into hours.

our CTO put it well: once AI is directly connected to your codebase, you don’t even need to start with code.

spent the last 48 hours embedded with our dev team and the AI-driven velocity is honestly shocking. i can leave feedback, tag it in Jira, assign an engineer, and within ~20 minutes it’s implemented, reviewed, tested, and deployed.

taking over our VP Product’s duties for the week it’s been quite a long Day 1… and i know that because our #1 priority ticket is in all caps and non-descriptive “PLS GET RID OF THE GIFT BOX.” lol
