It is sad that the word "effective" is not in the original tweet. #EffectiveMilitary capability is diverse and inclusive. It would be great reading if the Minister of National Defence would focus on the military being effective, not expedient until cost cutting starts.
Let’s be clear: building an inclusive and diverse military is not just the right thing to do, it is also essential to our security. Canada needs a military that can attract and retain talent from across society. Suggestions otherwise do not reflect the needs of a modern military.

One can only hope that every single Maple Leafs player on the current roster fully understands the enormity of sublime talent that Börje Salming sacrificed for a rudderless franchise. If only they played half as hard and with the same sense of urgency and emotion as he once did.
