Just like the Navajo, indigenous tribes up and down the Owens River are having their water stolen.
The Supreme Court ruled the U.S. govt is not responsible for ensuring water access for Indigenous tribes in a 5-4 vote. Nearly 1 in 3 people who live on the Navajo Nation reservation do not have access to clean water, despite living alongside the Colorado River.

FREE WOOD! From our friends at the #LawsRailroadMuseum, 4.5 mi. north of Bishop along Hwy 6. In the parking lot across from the museum. It's from trees that were sick and needed to be cut down. You just need to pick it up and chop it yourself. Feel the warmth! There till gone.

What makes the impending ābig meltā even more worrisome is that the San Joaquin Valley does not have a centralized, well-funded flood management system. Instead, a patchwork of local water managers, counties & private land owners are largely in chargeā¦ā https://t.co/rakhfgwkTD

As Californiaās historic snowfall gives way to the warmth of Spring, that snowpack will eventually melt, creating an even more historic risk for flooding in places woefully unprepared to handle it.
