Iota v2.4.2 released to Google Play Store –– enabling stronger online/offline orders & returns processing, and support for EAN-13 barcodes (whereas Logistimo default scanning previously supported only GS-1). Hope this enables our customers to serve more hard-to-reach people.

A lack of visibility across the vaccine supply chain increases the risk of wastage and stockouts. With support from @Gavi, @Logistimo developed an online system to support health workers and allow for better tracking and management of stock:

2/2 For the better part of a decade, some donors have wasted much investing in "planners" (i.e. @bill_easterly description), especially in #globalhealth #supplychain #digital #LMIS, obfuscating market options & leading ministries astray, even throughout the pandemic.

1/2 Nice Qs, @Yadav_supplychn +Clyde! Popular, genuinely useful standards best proven bottom-up (eg W3C), yet #globalhealth donors (led by privileged partners raising grants for themselves) have influenced top-down for years. Sounds good inside the echo-chamber, no doubt! #LMIS

In a new paper, we 🔎 network externalities in the market for health information systems in LMICs. We highlight the potential risks of global agencies & donors swaying the HIS market towards standardization, which could lead to an inferior HIS solution. https://t.co/GVh9i5bpxd

We want more resilient supply chains, but we shouldn't sacrifice the benefits that existing supply chains have created or penalize developing countries in the race for resilience. @Yadav_supplychn @scepticalranil & @charlesjkenny on building back better:
