And before anyone comes at me with the “the ingredients are flammable and toxic!” argument, I would ask you to do some research and also provide the toxic dose of those compounds in the human body when applied topically and then the concentration found in the nail polish.

The scientific consensus is that most polishes today follow five-free (usually 7-free or higher) standard that removed concerning health agents and that most polishes lack sufficient concentration for detrimental absorption into the body.

Biochemist here - it’s really important that we provide accurate information regarding these claims. Harvard Health discusses this below and there are a number of other peer-reviewed studies you can read on the topic.

Did you know that our hands emit the most light? That nail polish and fake nails block and once applied enter chemicals into your blood stream within 10 minutes? I saw this on Telegram.

The greatest misconception of Solomonic magic. Binding is not the first part of the process…it is one of the final alternatives.

The ritual isn’t the magic, the ritual is usually the safety precautions for the magic. I’ve seen too many groups and individuals cast a circle only to treat it as the main event, do no magic, and then take the circle down. Like we called the gods here to witness what exactly?.

This is not an attack on the original poster, but the reflections of a practitioner whose grimtrad practice gets a lot of shit because of its complexity (when it’s really more nuanced).

Excess is a problem in ceremonial magic, but I think sometimes people forget that each tool in a tradition is important in specific ways. Let’s not downplay a rich tradition of ritual because it’s too complex. Both the simple and complex are important!.

that could have serious health consequences, even with skin only contact! . Do better. Be better for your readers. And maybe, if you are so inclined, cute scholarly papers that have done testing on these plants so people can learn from experts in the field. (3/3).

alternatives. A true class act on how to provide information and still warn people of the dangers of using those formulations. I am continuously disheartened at the number of authors offering a single disclaimer for use of plants at the beginning of a book (2/…).

If you would like a book with incense recipes (that could be turned into oils) for planetary workings then I highly recommend S. Aldernay’s Fumigations of the Seven Planets. He includes toxic and poisonous recipes from Agrippa, discusses the dangers, and offers safe (1/…) 🧵.

I understand the comedic nature of this meme, but I think it’s important to remind ourselves that time and it’s enumeration in days and the following names is of a human origin and not divine!.

Would love to see the paper this is from so we can define grounding using the parameters the authors do and ensure it qualifies as appropriate evidence for the conclusions being drawn from it!.

I agree with this, however, friendship does not mean we cannot constructively critique one another or hold each other to high standards.

If you are going to be an author, an artist, an influencer, or just a commentator in our small world of the occult, you cannot see others as your competition. They are your comrades, your peers. The moment you see others in this field as competitors, you've already begun to fail.
