Today’s the day, don’t forget that there are multiple Divvy stations, multiple bike racks, & multiple tailgates, but there is only one #cf97 bike valet. Next to the merch truck between the Waldron deck & the pedestrian underpass. We will update this thread with ride schedule.
No #CycleToSoldierField bike ride from the NW Side this weekend. Instead a special early north lakefront bike ride. Arriving ~4:30-5pm for the Josh Strauts memorial in the south lot. Look out for us along the route at the QR code below. We will tweet #cf97 ride status updates.

The best part of last nights match was seeing the steps forward the Supporters Section has taken in the offseason. Thanks to everyone who made that happen. @Sector_Latino12 @Section8Chicago @TheRedLineSG @ArsonCityUltras @Banda_Roja137 @18stUltras @polewithagoal69 XOXO #cf97

Is the smart money on The League for Clubs?

Suffering isn't "we make the playoffs regularly, have won the supporters shield recently, but haven't won MLS Cup." It's going so long w/o making the playoffs that a kid has to be a preteen to even remember a playoff, & they have to have be 18+ to remember the last playoff win.

What are the chances that CJ Brown is the new #cf97 2 coach?

Real ones will remember his assists from nearly a decade ago when he returned home from LA the first time.
Sources: Chicago Fire to name Mikey Stephens as head of recruitment. It's the Fire's first front office hire under Gregg Berhalter. Stephens joins from LA Galaxy, where he was assistant GM under Will Kuntz. Stephens played for Fire & LAG in his career.

This may be the impetus for the rise of a truly premier midwest league, the pacific northwest could join us in scheduling for the times of year that are beautiful & not dreary or frigid.
@PaulTenorio Wouldn't this mean 40% of the league wouldn't play for 3+ months from the beginning of May until the middle of August? That's the most beautiful time of year for Chicago. Would rather sacrifice frigid times for glorious June games.

The MLS summer vs winter calendar debate always exposes the fact that this league competitively probably shouldn't span from the tropics to the tundra. Markets have completely different needs, & unlike England most of the teams don't benefit from the North Atlantic Drift.

If they do this, split the league in 2 & all the places where your taint boils in July can move to new schedule & places where it rains constantly (PNW), or is unsafe to be outside for extended periods without a parka (the north) in December & January can keep existing schedule.
MLS is considering moving to a fall-spring calendar, potentially as soon as 2026. Still being discussed and studied at multiple levels. Details here:

Honestly did not have Gal on our roster move bingo as remaining purely due to Dowd already taking up a supplemental roster spot, & the goalkeeper factory still churning out MLS 2 prospects.
Chicago Fire FC has made the following roster moves: The Fire have exercised the 2025 contract options for Jeff Gal and Jonathan Dean. Spencer Richey, Rafael Czichos, Fabian Herbers and Ariel Lassiter have not been offered a new deal for the 2025 season. Allan Arigoni will

Holy smokes. The DPI exit is a huge blow but it makes a slew of different site plans possible that could accommodate 2 stadiums surrounded by towers. Maybe no Metra track reconfiguration needed either.
Related Midwest just emailed me this official statement regarding Project 78. Plan is now to figure out TWO stadiums in the South Loop lot

A stadium location 15 miles from the Loop but still in the city & 5 miles from the nearest L stop would have similar issues regarding access & sustaining interest among young adults in this city. Being in the city is not as important as being central to regional transit.

Every time someone calls Bridgeview “15 miles outside of the city” it requires a correction. The stadium is 15 miles from downtown & more importantly 5 miles from the nearest L stop, but it is less than a mile from the city border w/ Bridgeview.

Mansueto said the club has started to tour possible sites.

For those wondering why we’re not transitioning to 🟦🌤️, it’s because this supporters group is being mothballed. Anyone who still lives in Logan can take up the reins, but other initiatives are getting a new life on new platforms in the new year.
