Severe knee hyperflexion last Saturday goofing around with my kids on wet grass. Took 4+ plates for a spin today. Building strength also builds durability. Building strength builds resiliency.

Getting generally strong first will tremendously benefit muscle specific work, while being generally weak and trying to do muscle specific work may end up in spinning wheels.

In January 2024, I thought I'd try to take more steps than the previous month (December 2024) and see how long I could keep that streak up. Obviously, each month gets a little harder, but February 2026 was tough. I got there and beat January's number, but those 3 missing days

When you train consistently, track meticulously, and have built a catalog of sessions, it's easy to pinpoint exact reasons a certain session was limited. Many times, you can somewhat expect it going in, but you can't really let that doubt creep in or your training won't be any

Woke up 9% recovered, bottomed out at 5% before I unracked the first warmup set. The bar was heavy. Everything beyond that was unbearable. My mind kept wanting to quit, but I just insisted on getting to the top set - not sure how many reps I could get, if any at all. Ended up

What do we think the incline equivalent of a 315 bench is? 275? 225? Somewhere in between, just not as clean looking?

If I wasn't tracking reps & loads meticulously & using an average 1RM to produce a target rep number, there's no way I would have tried the last rep. 12 would have been a nice, round number and certainly close to failure. But knowing I needed 13 took the set to another level.
