TheMagicHat Update 🧙‍♂️. - Dialogue system is complete!. We have a complex thought bubble system where player and npc's react to the world around them and make offhand comments. A much less complex chat system that displays chat text featuring the npc!. #indiegame #gamedev #unity

TheMagicHat update!.-Context based dialogue system!. Aka.Everything shouts out its context and anything listening (like the player and npc's) can process that context against rules that contain various conditions like "Are there more than 3 trees?" etc.#indiedev #Gamedev #unity

Added a time system to the game! Decided not to simulate offline to keep dev time manageable. Hooked up day/night cycles, added an island base and some stars in the background. Added some other qol like tools are disabled when you tap off the island

For a mobile game, open your phone, work on your island for a couple minutes, then close it. But adds complexity plants turning into ents moving attacking and killing on the grid makes it tricky. Never done this before, so I’ll dive in tomorrow to see if it’s worth the dev time.
