Admin, embrace your strong outspoken teachers. If you respect them and give them a voice, you may just find they have great ideas & even when they challenge the process itβs not whining or a personal attack but sincere desire for the best for their students. Embrace their passion

I made my first digital anchor chart yesterday. I am keeping a slide deck for the students to access while we are virtual. I annotated what the students were saying on zoom with my screen shared. Then went and added the we noticed section after class. #mtbos #openupmath

Workflow hack: Watching my students @flipgrid responses on iPad and using voice to text for giving them feedback. Flipgrid emails directly to them. This is some of the most efficient high quality feedback Iβve given!

I choose to use slides with dragable pieces because the writing function of Jamboard does not work well with my students' school issued devices.

Here are the slides I used: https://t.co/RHT5oPrwYI I got the idea for the format when attending the ideas session @saravdwerf and @mrsstipemath hosted over the summer.

Did my first breakout room today in zoom with 100#s from @saravdwerf It was a hit! I loved it, the kids loved it, AND I have had more voluntary camera on and unmute to answer than before. Finally feeling like a teacher in this virtual world!

This excellent idea and many more with freebies on her feed. Also notice the expert use of emojis in the post. So many things to LOVE! @karleemhill @JennaKimlinger @MsRachelReaves

Excellent info about building community in a virtual setting. A great read!
Phew. Summer math camp is over. So I blogged about creating a community while teaching math remotely: https://t.co/yfEFMLGjC7

For decades, the focus of K-12 education has been on reading and math. Social studies and science are given minamal time. Yet here we are in a global pandemic and racial unrest because people lack the basic understanding and principles of history and science. π€¦πΏπ€·πΎββοΈ

.@karleemhill and @JennaKimlinger this could be helpful in planning lessons in the next few weeks. :)
Teachers spoke and we listened...and now your students can listen, too! #PearDeck Student-View Slides now include audio! π€ Layer audio over any slide type, in any Pear Deck for Google Slides lesson. This new feature is now live! π #remotelearning

.@Desmos I am loving the new feedback feature. I actually feel like I am helping students learn as they go. I wish there was a way on the summary screen to see where I had already left feedback. Maybe turn the square green or something.
