The immaturity of the Aus media class is a large part of why we are in such a mess. Massive cost of living crisis with pressure on government to respond and adapt = government responds to ease that pressure = focus on broken promises. This is why we can’t have nice things.

@LizHcks I’m not sure many have the ability to evaluate policy, so it’s easier to run the “broken promise” line . (Although it seems fairly obvious these changes to the Stage 3 tax cuts are a good thing.)

@LizHcks media is all about viewership, it is much easier to concentrate on the promise currently being broken now rather than the benefit that we will get in 6 months

@LizHcks Yeah, it's pretty nebulous but man - I'm certain they do incalculable damage to the country. I still remember back in 2010 a panel where they had a colleague of mine 'debating' against Monckton on climate. It's a farce, and they never seem to face consequences.
