there is a version of yourself that must die tonight. the one who waits, the one who doubts, the one who starts, then stops. the one who dreams, but does nothing about it. that version of you has been given too much time, too much comfort, and too much power. and if you do not

Our ladies have their favorite spot for laying eggs. For the "small boss" it must be the corner box, for the "red neck" it's usually under the coop, and for the "incubator" it is in hay just outside the "small boss" fav. Interestingly, chickens have their preferences. They also

Well... I need to admit: for the last few years I had been neglecting my main website. But the time has come for its redesign. The reason behind is that I want to dedicate myself to (finally) writing books, producing courses, and teaching about improving health. The ranch,

This is our neighborhood. I think it is awesome: the events, the horses, those little temp shacks selling snacks and drinks, the comradery, etc. This was the most recent pilgrimage in our area. Thousands of horses, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims on foot. Four days in total.

It's not a painting. It's not a filter. It's our regular "million dollars" sunrise at the Uthorium.

Here is our mobile chicken coop (or chicken tractor) in full glory. After moving it and lowering the wheels, we are going to put not one, but two feeders in. The reason for two feeders is joyful: we got 6 extra hens for laying eggs. They are about to be released from the Home

Making use of technology. Our chickens are progressive (not in a political way). Here is an automatic door that we installed in their tractor (AKA mobile coop). We programmed it to open at 6:15 am and close at 7:15 pm. No, it does not decapitate slow chickens. It retracts a

This post may be interesting for the folks that understand soil tests: regenerative farmers, homesteaders, and those who care for the health of humanity. We had two soil tests done on the same soil patch. One was done before we put the chickens in the tractor, the other one was

How many eggs from one hen? 3 or 4 a week? Nah.... Our ladies bring an egg a day, with hard shell and beautifully orange yolk. So, 7 a week, but why? Are they a special breed. Nope. They are regular hens, but kept stress free on our pasture. They are encouraged to forage in

Oh joy! After a few weeks of waiting our second hen decided to gift us her eggs. Now we consistently harvest 2 eggs a day. The third lady is reddening her comb. Two weeks more and we may have 3 eggs/day. Pure excitement.

Remember us making sausages. They turned out great. Now we have 15 kg of zero chemicals carnivorous variety (stuffed in the freezer) ready for our gourmet dining. Ah! Our homesteading is on another level. PS. Do you see that patch of sauerkraut on the plate? It's our as well.

Why would you be making your own sausages? Because if you are health-aware and read the ingredient list on the labels... you may not want to eat what the store has to offer.

We learn as we go. Apparently chickens need to eat, and a lot! Laying hens need a lot of protein and calcium and these don't come from greens on the field. After some debate we decided to build a incubators for fly larvae (in the video). Specifically black soldier flies.

The new Alzheimer’s study that I referenced earlier doesn’t just talk about plaques and tangles, it points to something deeper: when cells stop talking to each other. It got me thinking…. Because I’ve seen it again and again: chemistry is what we measure, but the fields are

So, I made this. Fig leaf syrup. While entertaining myself on TikTok or Instagram... a fig leaf recipe presented itself to me. I've seen those before, and none persuaded me to snip any plants. But this one was different... It said this fig leaf syrup goes well with coffee.
