I’m running to represent Delaware in the United States Senate.
I’m filled with Bright Hope for our future. But a more perfect union isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. Let’s go on it together.
Join me ➡️
Today, I pay tribute to John Lewis on what would have been his 84th birthday.
From organizing Freedom Rides to enduring life-threatening violence at the Edmund Pettus bridge, John Lewis embodied our country’s civil rights struggle.
I feel honored to have served — and danced —…
As a nation in pain, we need a President who can help us heal.
I was proud to join
@JoeBiden
this evening in Wilmington as we heard first hand from our neighbors.
We are a nation in pain right now, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us.
As President, I will help lead this conversation — and more importantly, I will listen, just as I did today visiting the site of last night's protests in Wilmington.
It’s not lost on me that there are currently no Black women in the United States Senate.
Representation matters, and my goal is to have the greatest impact possible on people’s lives.
I would be honored to serve Delaware in the Senate.
We just watched the first Black woman to ever be on a major party ticket be lectured on systemic racism by a White man. Unfortunately for Vice President Pence,
@KamalaHarris
and Black people everywhere know the truth!
#VPDebate
I carry this scarf with an image of the document that allowed my great-great-great grandfather to vote in Georgia during the Reconstruction Era to remind me of why I serve.
We must remember our history to make sure we never relive it. We must protect our voting rights.
My name is Lisa Blunt Rochester, and I am running to be Delaware's next United States Senator.
In the House, I fought to codify abortion rights, pass gun reform, and protect our democracy.
Retweet this and give me a follow to help me continue this fight in the Senate.
There is no room in our wombs for politicians - not in Delaware, Florida, or anywhere else in the country. I was proud to be down in Florida with state leaders and
@RobinLynneKelly
to campaign for my friend and classmate
@ValDemings
for the U.S. Senate!
It's been over two years since domestic terrorists stormed the halls of Congress, putting my life and our democracy in danger.
Extremists won't stop until we make them. Now more than ever, we must never forget the events of January 6, 2021.
Had a blast welcoming the Biden-Harris team to Wilmington. I never could have imagined having a Presidential Campaign HQ in my hometown!
Seeing
@JoeBiden
and
@KamalaHarris
in person was absolutely electric — they truly embody the energy of a winning team.
As President Biden’s national campaign co-chair, I am excited to see the President get reelected.
His transformational agenda has accomplished more in 3 years than most have in 8.
I am not sure which "others" Dean Phillips has been speaking to, but I know
@KamalaHarris
as someone who is:
1. Intelligent
2. Dependable
3. A proven leader
Dean Phillips
@deanbphillips
should apologize - hiding behind the well worn “people are saying” and leaning in to gossip over your own experience for the sake of scoring cheap political points is not leadership.
John Lewis was a true leader and civil rights icon. He dedicated his life fighting for the rights of everyone. I am where I am today because of his tireless work. I will miss my friend and mentor, our nation will miss a hero.
Thank you for showing us how to get in
#GoodTrouble
We have to end gun violence because we love our children, we love our seniors, we love our community members, we love our country.
Love is more powerful than hate.
As a mother of two, I refuse to continue watching our children be gunned down in our streets.
As a House Rep, I voted to ban the sale of assault weapons in America.
As a Senator, I am going to do the same.
If we can forgive PPP loans for some of my wealthy Republican colleagues in the House, we can surely forgive student loans to set young people up for success.
Monday marked 9 years since my late husband, Charles, passed away. We miss him so much everyday.
Today, I am proud to introduce the bipartisan “Charles Rochester Blood Clot Prevention and Treatment Act” in Congress to help bring awareness to this health issue and save lives.…
As President Biden’s national campaign co-chair, it is great to see the President bring his campaign back where it all started: Delaware.
I can’t wait to watch our little state do big things as we work to get President Biden re-elected.
My great-great-great grandfather was a freed slave.
I’ll be damned if we let states roll back the progress our country has made.
From teaching African American history to protecting voting rights, I will not let us succumb to the radicals that want to take our rights away.
I was so proud to have endorsed
@JoeBiden
as soon as he launched his campaign, and tonight, I am just as proud to see him win our state’s primary election. In Delaware, we know Joe and we look forward to him becoming our next president!
On to November!
#RidinWithBiden
I voted for an assault weapons ban in our country because I'm tired of watching children being gunned down in their schools, in their homes, and on our streets.
We cannot wait any longer. We must act to stop the gun violence epidemic in America before more lives are lost.
When Republicans cannot win, they ask the Courts to overturn long-standing election law.
This was the case in Moore v. Harper. Today, the Court rejected their partisan attempt.
The fight to protect our electoral system cannot stop. We must pass electoral reform in Congress.
BREAKING: U.S. Supreme Court issues decision in Moore v. Harper. The Court rejects the independent state legislature theory, ruling that state courts have the power to review election laws and maps enacted by state legislatures.
Juneteenth is about freedom. We must celebrate the many contributions of the African American community, remember the past, and recommit to continue the fight for freedom.
Today, I am thinking about John. May we never stop fighting for a better future for all.
#Juneteenth
People ask me if January 6th was my worst day. It was. But it was also one of my proudest.
Because we walked back into the House chamber to complete our work.
That day we didn’t let the forces of fear win. Democracy prevailed.
I launched my campaign for the United States Senate this morning, and the response has been overwhelming.
Together, we will continue our success in the House and protect your rights and your benefits. Chip in to join our historic campaign:
I am at a loss for words. Today's SCOTUS decision guts affirmative action and is wrong, plain and simple.
I know firsthand the importance of programs that help increase minority representation in our schools and our institutions.
Diversity is our strength, we must do more in…
I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked
@KamalaHarris
— a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.
ICYMI: Last night, I joined
@Lawrence
to talk about my priorities in the United States Senate.
When elected, I will focus on decreasing prescription drug costs, protecting our voting rights, and codifying reproductive freedom into law. Let’s do this, Delaware!
Ohio, you made us proud tonight.
This is just the beginning.
In 2024, we will reject attempts to attack abortion rights. We will elect majorities in both chambers that will protect the right to choose and the right to vote.
From protecting abortion rights to lowering costs and passing gun reform, I am running for the United States Senate to support our shared goals.
Let’s do this, Delaware!
On January 6, 2021, as the United States Capitol was under siege, I hid on the House balcony and said a prayer. A prayer for our safety and for our country.
Two years later, the threats posed by extremists are greater than ever. I will never stop fighting for our democracy.
Rep.
@LisaBRochester
: We know Joe Biden has been able to accomplish things and that people are starting to feel it. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have passed bipartisan infrastructure, helped veterans get benefits through the PACT Act, and capped insulin prices at $35
From protecting abortion rights to lowering prescription drug costs, I am running for the United States Senate to make your lives better.
Let’s do this, Delaware!
From infrastructure investments to combatting the climate crisis, I've worked with the President to pass real change in the House.
Our fight is just beginning. In 2024, we will reelect President Biden, and I will continue to support his agenda in the United States Senate.
I am so proud to earn the endorsement of
@emilyslist
.
Together, we will protect our Democratic majority in the United States Senate, codify reproductive freedoms, and build towards a more perfect union.
We are proud to endorse
@LisaBRochester
for election to the U.S. Senate. She will help protect our razor-thin Democratic pro-choice majority in the Senate and stop Republican extremism.
Today, I voted to expel George Santos from Congress.
He abandoned his oath of office, lied to voters, and abused their trust.
His expulsion is good news. The time is now to restore integrity to the district he failed and to Congress.
Delawareans want a United States Senator who will fight for them in Washington.
If we want to keep Mitch McConnell in the minority, we will keep Delaware blue. Let’s do this, together!
One year ago, today,
@JoeBiden
launched his campaign to restore the soul of our nation.
One year later, in the face of crisis, we’ve seen the best of what the American people have to offer. Let’s say Thank You on this

Groups of Democratic women lawmakers are making a statement in white at President Joe Biden's State of the Union address. This time, it’s for reproductive rights.
Follow AP's live coverage:
It has been over one year since the Dobbs decision, and the right to an abortion hangs in the balance.
We cannot let my Republican colleagues pass a nationwide abortion ban.
I voted to codify Roe in the House. I will do it again in the Senate.
All moms deserve equal access to quality health care before, during, and after pregnancy. Yet, Black moms are almost 3x more likely to die during pregnancy than white moms.
This
#BlackMaternalHealthWeek
, join me in building a future where every mom can thrive.
I was proud to serve in the House where we lowered the cost of prescriptions, grew our economy, and fought to provide clean air and clean water.
I’m running to serve in the Senate to continue this work, and fight to protect voting rights, reproductive freedom, and our Democracy.
Voting rights are under attack in America.
Republican-led states are working to limit the right to vote because they know they cannot win fairly.
It’s time to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
With so much at stake in 2024, I want folks to know that this moment is real. As Senator, I will always fight to protect our democracy, climate, and economy.
Thank you to
@MollyJongFast
for having me on
@FastPoliticsPod
to discuss our movement in Delaware.
This scarf is a Returns of Qualified Voters and Reconstruction Oath from 1867.
My great-great-great grandfather’s signature is on this oath.
This scarf serves as a reminder that no matter how much progress we’ve made, we have much more work to do to protect the right to vote…
It was an immense honor to serve on the VP selection committee for
@JoeBiden
and watch him select
@KamalaHarris
as his running mate. I have all the confidence in the world that she will do a fantastic job tonight and in the White House!
#VPDebate
This election is about building this country back better than ever better. We need day one-ready leadership to pull us out of the chaos this current administration inflicted on the American people.
We need
@JoeBiden
and
@kamalaHarris
.
Proud doesn’t even begin the capture it. My sister,
@Marlabc11
is my hero. Her bravery and resilience are unrivaled. And today, one year after suffering a stroke, I watched her pick up a pen, sign her name, and cast Delaware’s vote for
@JoeBiden
&
@KamalaHarris
I commend the Biden administration for this decision. This will remove the needless barriers to employment, housing and education, and give thousands a second chance.
Now more than ever it is clear that President Biden is the right person for the job.
The President’s historic policies have lowered costs, raised wages, and protected everyday Americans.
I look forward to supporting the President’s agenda in the Senate.
Let me be Blunt, our new Speaker has some red flags.
🚩Does not support LGTBQ marriage
🚩Supports a national abortion ban
🚩Voted to slash Social Security and Medicare
🚩Helped lead efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s election in 2020
MAGA Republicans in the Senate are holding up President Biden’s military nominees, putting our national security at risk.
When I get to the Senate, I will never put my political career ahead of our country’s security.
One American dies from a blood clot every 6 minutes.
Whether famous or family, blood clots don't discriminate -- from Jimmy Stewart and Serena Williams to my late husband, Charles.
March is Blood Clot Awareness Month, and so many folks still don't know the signs and symptoms.…
The importance for women in this election cannot be overstated. It's an honor to support the Women for Biden-Harris initiative — together, we can win.
Visit or text WOMEN to 30330.
Every community in America deserves access to clean air and clean water.
In the 21st century, we should not have children drinking out of lead pipes or families breathing contaminated air.
I look forward to fighting to protect all Americans in the Senate.
With the House under siege, I prayed for love over hate and hope over fear.
People ask me if January 6th was my worst day. It was.
It was also one of my proudest moments. Because we walked back in that House chamber and completed our work.
Just one year ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Protecting reproductive freedom has always been a priority of mine.
I voted to codify Roe in the House. I’ll do the same when I get to the Senate. Abortion is health care.
I have dedicated my entire career to public service.
I started as an intern on Capitol Hill, served in the cabinets of two Delaware Governors, and served in the House of Representatives.
Now, I am running for Senate to continue advocating for a strong Democratic agenda.
Despite the progress we have made, Black women still remain underrepresented in elected positions. If elected, I would be the 3rd Black woman to ever serve in the U.S. Senate.
As Delaware's next United States Senator, I look forward to:
✅ fighting to codify abortion rights into federal law;
✅ passing common sense gun reform; and
✅ passing the PRO Act to support our unions.
The holiday season is about spreading love and joy to those around you. Spending time with my closest friends and family brings me the most joy throughout the season, especially when we are baking cookies or dancing to Beyoncé songs 💃🏽🍪✨

Today is the 88th anniversary of the Social Security Act.
In the face of opposition from MAGA extremists in the House, I fought to protect Social Security benefits.
I’ll do the same in the Senate.
Abortion rights are human rights.
In the House, I proudly voted to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law.
Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe, the fight cannot stop.
In the Senate, I will vote to abolish the filibuster and codify abortion rights.
In the House, I voted to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
Unfortunately, the bill stalled.
In the Senate, I will revive the effort to pass this critical piece of legislation. We must protect our constitutional right to vote.
I carried this scarf on January 6, 2021.
When I look at it now, I am reminded of the importance of upholding our democracy.
Democracy prevailed on January 6th.
From the school board to the Senate, representation matters.
When we bring our experiences to these positions we make better legislation and govern better.
There are currently no Black women in the United States Senate. I'm running to change that.
The filibuster is an archaic tool created to hinder America’s progress.
As Delaware’s next United States Senator, you can count on my vote to abolish the filibuster once and for all.
If we are truly committed to leaving this place better than how we found it, then we will support our young people.
This means lowering the cost of college, student loan forgiveness, and much more.
Bidenomics is working and Americans around the country are already feeling its effects.
The President's agenda is building our economy from the bottom up and middle out. As the President's campaign co-chairwoman I look forward to his reelection.
