Enough! @EENewsUpdates calling Empire Wind’s review “rushed” & “reckless” is baseless! The project was problematic and @NOAA's multi-year administrative record shows it. That's what the report summarizes. Stop gaslighting. @shellenberger

2/2 Real-world turbine noise isn’t a steady broadband hum — it’s unpredictable, with low-frequency thumps & amplitude modulation that disturb sleep and health. Lab simulations erase those effects, then call sufferers “nocebo.” That’s not science — that’s spin.

1/2 🧵Here they go again. Wind boosters blame turbine noise victims with the tired “nocebo” excuse. Lab subjects calling the simulated sound “steady broadband noise” is proof the study isn’t real-world. Your method is wrong. @windaction

Industrial wind energy doesn't kill whales, insisted the media. But a new report by a top government scientist reveals that the Biden admin. broke the law in approving Empire Wind, while Revolution Wind is in a crucial "magical space for marine animals" at risk of extinction.

Post 2/2.Enough excuses. Wind lobbyists cheer subsidies but scream when asked for accountability. @Interior demanding eagle death records isn’t “hostility”—it’s finally ending Big Wind’s “special treatment.”.

Post 1/2 .Big Wind crying foul (again). @EENewsUpdates casts them as victims after @Interior asked for eagle mortality data. 🦅 If turbines are “safe,” prove it. If not—stop hiding behind PR spin. @windaction.

Ørsted (Nasdaq Copenhagen: ORSTED) sinking 🚨 Down >40% since Equinor’s buy-in at 398.5 DKK (~$59). Now trading 237 DKK ($35). That’s a ~$1B USD hit for Equinor. Offshore wind: hyped by subsidies, punished by markets. @shellenberger @pwrhungry @SaveNARW.

3/3.So celebrating wind/solar “outbuilding” fossil & nuclear is meaningless. Fossil & nuclear respond to market demand. Wind & solar respond to government handouts. That’s not a triumph of clean energy — it’s proof of distortion. @windaction.

2/3.That’s why thousands of MW of wind & solar were built in the last decade even as U.S. electricity demand was flat or falling. In a real market, you don’t add massive supply when demand is stagnant. Incentives—not need—drove this buildout.

🧵1/3 Once again, big wind/solar boosters brag about more MW installed than fossil or nuclear. But that misses the point entirely. Developers aren’t responding to market signals — they’re chasing subsidies, RPS mandates & guaranteed contracts.

⚠️ 4 worker deaths at U.S. wind energy construction sites reported in 2025 alone. The industry’s safety record demands serious scrutiny —development can’t come at the cost of human lives. @realDonaldTrump @windaction

8/8 The real question: Will we see a wave of token dirt-moving at wind/solar sites in late 2025–26? If so, the guidance hasn’t curbed gaming—it’s merely reshaped it.

7/8 Bottom line: Treasury said it was “curbing gaming.” But with cheap earthwork qualifying and a 4-year safe harbor, the door may be wider than ever. This is exactly what the House Freedom Caucus wanted to avoid!.

6/8 That means the real constraint of the old 5% safe harbor—serious upfront commitment—is gone. Now, even weaker developers can lock in multiple projects at low cost.

5/8 Result: The new test requires less capital and still locks in subsidy eligibility. Instead of tying up $15M in turbine orders, a developer could spend a few hundred thousand on token earthwork.

4/8 Developers still get the 4-year continuity safe harbor. As long as a project is in service within 4 years, IRS won’t question progress. For most projects, that’s plenty of time.

3/8 🔹 “Physical work of a significant nature” left. Now, moving dirt for a foundation or pouring a pad = “start of construction.” No minimum threshold. Costs are a fraction of the 5% safe harbor.

2/8: 🔹 Old rule - 5% Safe Harbor - gone.If a developer spent 5% of project costs upfront (e.g., $15M on a $300M wind farm), they had 4 years to finish and still get tax credits. Costly, but predictable.

Will the guidance be gamed? Probably. That's Big Wind’s specialty. Hard to see how this is a win for the House Freedom Caucus.
