Somerset Hills Country Club, an A.W. Tillinghast masterpiece, absolutely shines in autumn. Tillinghast designed some terrific golf courses, many of which are considered among the finest in the world. But this New Jersey gem, designed early in his career, might be the most fun.

When I hear a golfer say that they hate blind shots, it hurts my soul. Itās like hearing someone say they hate dogs, or art, or music. It doesnāt compute. After all, how can a golfer not love the blind approach on an Alps/Punchbowl par-4? The feeling of excitement from hitting a

The requests keep rolling in for more from Trout National. In the interests of giving the people what they want, hereās another set from this new Tiger Woods / Beau Welling design in South Jersey. That first photo is a particular favorite of mine - the 11th, a 119yd par-3 with a

The famous par-4s of Merion East are so good, itās almost easy to overlook that the quartet of par-3s here are among the best anywhere. Hereās a look at my favorite of the bunch - the 9th. Normally playing to about 180 yards but stretchable to 230, itās downhill over Baffling

For over a decade, CEO Frank @bulldogholmes has been one of the most active and influential voices in the gold market, consistently calling higher prices when others doubted. From his early calls in 2011 to his bold prediction of $4,000 per ounce gold in 2025, Frankās insights

Sunset at the Home of Golf. This is one of my favorite photos of 2026. I love the way the two-tone mowing line seems to differentiate the rumpled 18th fairway from the flat 1st. I love how the Swilcan Burn catches the last of the sunlight. I love how it shows the

More from Trout National. Last nightās images focused on the greens complexes; these aerials give a better sense of the fairways and approaches. As even this small set of images show, wide fairways provide ample room off the tee, but there are certainly preferred angles and

Hereās a sneak peak at a few of the magnificent greens at Trout National. The course, designed by Tiger Woods and Beau Welling of TGR Design, is the centerpiece of an expansive new project by Mike Trout and John Ruga in Vineland, NJ that will include a short course, putting

You know how some courses just make you happy? Maybe youāve played there once, or maybe youāve played there a thousand times, but for some reason, whenever it pops into your head, you canāt help but smile? Misquamicut is that kind of course for me.

Funny thing about the places made for summer - sometimes theyāre even better in the fall. And so it is with the Hyannisport Club, a terrific Donald Ross design on the south shore of Cape Cod. Massachusetts has so many great seaside courses along its 1,519 miles of coastline,

A loop around the lovely Stonewall, all dressed in her fall colors, with a good dog by your side, will cure all of your ills and bring you peace, at least for a few hours. So many great memories here.

A few new shots from an old favorite place: Ballyneal. From the air, you really get a sense of why the Chop Hills are called the Chop Hills, and also for why Ballyneal is so damn fun on the ground. Ballyneal opened in 2006 (hard to believe itās been almost 20 years), and thanks

A hat tip to the Barwon Heads Golf Club, the best course Iād never heard of before playing there. During the Melbourne leg of our Australia trip, a friend dragged me against my will about 90 minutes south to the Bellarine Peninsula to play here, and Iām so glad he did. The

With the northeast in full fall golf mode before the end of the season, prime time in the southeast is just beginning. I donāt post a lot of Florida courses, largely because there are only a handful that I really like, but hereās one I love: Calusa Pines is a terrific 2001

I get asked this one a lot, so me just put the question of my favorite clubhouse to bed for good. There are many clubhouses out there I love. To name just a few: I adore the grandeur of Sleepy Hollow, Maidstone, Winged Foot and St. Georgeās Hill, the elegance of Newport, Merion

Speaking of bold Charles Banks templates, hereās a set from the terrific Tamarack Country Club. TCC is some of Banksā best and boldest work - the Biarritz here is a monster, the Redan is excellent, the Eden is surrounded by bunkers 15 feet below the green, and the Punchbowl is

Even one of the top imaging companies in the US admits how much better ultrasound is than mammography for breast imaging. What is not said is the radiation risk of mammograms is worse than the benign sound waves of U.S. I never Rx'd mammograms, choosing ultrasounds instead.
