In both meetings, Dr Sammut welcomed the decision of the COP29 presidency to include a day of peace in the programme in #Baku in November. He said that the Bonn Contac Group on Climate Peace and Security will work closely with the COP29 presidency for the success of this event.

In his remarks to the meeting, Dr Sammut spoke about the importance of the COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace and said that this was a milestone event that enabled work on Climate Peace and Security to develop in the framework of the COP process.
