The lighthouse on Bardsey Island/Ynys Enlli was first lit on this day in 1821. It is the tallest square lighthouse in Britain. It also features on the back cover of my new book Lighthouses of Wales. Find out more at https://t.co/lcpOViK6uY

The lamp at the Great Orme lighthouse was lit #OnThisDay in 1862. It guided ships to Liverpool until 1985, when it was converted to a B&B. The old Fresnel lens is now in the Great Orme Visitor Centre. Read more, and buy my Lighthouses of Wales book, at https://t.co/D7CLQ4itOL

The Skerries lighthouse, located 1.9 miles off the NW coast of Anglesey, was first lit #onthisday in 1717, warning ships of the rocks and guiding them to Liverpool port. Its story is told in my new book Lighthouses of Wales. https://t.co/Jpuma9NRIw
