We have put together a display of classically inspired lighthouse objects including our fabulous ‘Skerryvore lamp’! All typical of Alan Stevenson’s interest in the classical world.

It is #NationalNoBeardDay ! Popular culture suggests that beards were a compulsory look for light-keepers but we find that most 20thC keepers didn't have them. The 19thC was a different matter, as demonstrated by David M. Scott at Kinnaird Head c.1880. Impressive beard!

BUILDING PROGRESS We had a chance to visit the former Exhibition Area & Store yesterday. The work on the roof is complete & focus is now on the interior. We have some exciting plans for this end of the Museum which we look forward to getting on with in 2025! @Aberdeenshire
