Hurricane Melissa now a major Cat 4 hurricane, but the latest forecast has it strengthening even more to a Cat 5 hurricane tomorrow and as it nears landfall on Jamaica early Tuesday. Also expected to bring 15-30" of rain to the island! Thinking of everyone there. @wbz

A fire hose for SE Mass over the past couple of days with 4-6" of rain About 1/4 of all the precipitation this year there has fallen during just 2 storms...this one and the May nor'easter

Several folks asking, "If this were snow, how much would we have received"? Easy answer: 1" of water = 10" snow so, in Plymouth county there would be 50". Correct answer: you cannot directly compare...airmass would have to be colder for it to snow and cold air holds less moisture
