Our beloved son Henry passed away. He had the softest blue eyes, an easy smile and a contagious giggle. We always surrounded him with love and he returned it, and so much more. Mary and Richard.
Everyone remained calm as the theater began to shake and then the shaking got stronger. We all headed to exits and down the stairs. No panic but one woman sobbing. This one was scary.
Every inmate at Angola is sentenced to hard labor. These men, like hundreds of others, worked in the fields. While picking carrots on the former slave plantation, we discussed the cycle of incarceration and prison labor.
