Like a Soviet-era dictator, and in a raw exercise of power without provision of law, Pope Francis has removed Bp. Joseph Strickland as bishop of Tyler, TX.

Bp. Strickland should steadfastly refuse to depart the office, and he should cite canon law and demand the pope present an ecclesiastical crime for which he is guilty as the means of his removal. otherwise, he has every right to remain in place, and there isn’t a judge in the US…

NEWS: The Vatican announced Nov. 11 that Pope Francis had effectively fired Texas Bishop Joseph Strickland, a firebrand prelate who called synodality "garbage" and endorsed a video that attacked Francis as a "diabolically disoriented clown.”

@DeanLeh It won’t be long before the crowing of the heretics at NCR turns to the howls and screams of the damned in Hell. They better repent before it is too late.

@LepantoInst He called the Pope a usurper and embraced Sedevacantism….. “Would you now allow this one who has pushed aside the true Pope and has attempted to sit on a chair that is not his define what the Church is to be.”

@AugustineOfNola Don’t take him out of context. That is a quote from a letter he read aloud to express the thoughts of the faithful scandalized by PF. Those are not HIS words!

@LepantoInst The pope *is* the lawmaker for the Catholic Church. The "provision of law" is, he's the pope. Come on, now; this is basic stuff.

@IndieGameLawyer The pope has the authority to change Canon Law, but he is subject to the same law as written.

@LepantoInst Has Pope Francis provided a reason yet? I think everyone is expecting to hear a well-formed reason for this.

@LepantoInst but didn't Msgr. Strickland question the legitimacy of the Pope's election? That in itself seems enough to precipitate a knee-jerk reaction from Francis.
