He never looked happy killing any of the expeditioners and ultimately he was doing it to prolong not only his family’s existence but theirs as well. He values his family over all else obviously but I think he had care for the rest of the people of their world.

“Their memories, their dreams, their love for each other” my favorite pRenoir scene. It’s easy to assume that he was just tryna gaslight Verso into not going through with his plan but I believe he was speaking from a genuine place of care for all painted people.

Funniest scene in the whole game. The way Verso and Monoco were just egging Lune on to try it😭 You can tell they thought they were hilarious in this moment.

Everyone knows how tragic this scene is but I think one of the most tragic things about it is Versos soul fragment turning around to look at pVerso when he starts begging for help. I wonder what was going through his mind at that moment.

It could also explain why she isn’t particularly as close to her parents as the other two. It’s also interesting that Verso later goes back on what he said and calls Maelle the favorite. Maybe he realized what it actually means to be the favorite after what happened with Aline.

I am guessing that they both felt like she was the favorite cause she got the most attention having been the most accomplished. But I wonder if Clea felt emotionally neglected by her parents having her accomplishment be the main focus of their love for her.

Slightly unrelated. But I always found it interesting that both Verso and Maelle say that Clea is the favorite. Even tho we later find out that Maelle is Renoirs favorite and Verso is definitely Alines favorite.

Choice together to put an end to all of it always hits me hard. In their last moment they perfectly display the self sacrificial nature that they share. Being willing to die to save their family. Whilst also showing the selfish side with their desire to end their own misery.

This is not to say that this was a completely selfless act ofc not. pVerso also wanted to save his family and end his own misery. But the two of them coming together having shared that same misery of watching their family get torn apart over their existence and then making the-

It makes so much sense when you realize that pRenoir not only had suffered the loss of pClea but also the pain of losing Verso forced on him by Aline. He couldn’t afford to feel the pain of losing another one of his precious children just like the original Renoir.

Also the fact that it’s just “Alicia” when referring to her whereas it’s “my Verso” when referring to him. I love Aline but god does she have the most unforgivable actions in this game.

“She is not Alicia. You are not my Verso” the anger and hate in Alines voice when saying Alicia in contrast with the soft and gentle way she says “my Verso”. God my heart breaks for Maelle every time.

“Don’t turn away from us” Even throughout the final fight and after it he never stops urging him to comeback.

”I refuse to lose my son” pRenoir never stopped loving Verso despite the fact that Verso had spent decades fighting him. He still wanted his dearest son back.

In a lot of ways pAlicia and Sciel are so similar. The compassion and understanding they can show others despite the cruelty they have faced. On top of them being the voice of reason in their family/expedition. In another life they would have been friends

“An act of love. For he does love her. Your father” Alicia was so kind and compassionate she could even recognize that Renoirs actions were done out of love despite the fact that he was taking away everything that she loved in the process.
