Anyway! I decided to give my passion its rightful place: as a hobby, and not a full time activity. Everyone’s path is different, and what applies to me might not apply to you. But I wanted to share a bit of my journey, in case it helps if you are in a similar situation! 😊 🧵6/6.

…would guarantee any livable income from game development. If I had persisted into full time game development, I would have lost all my savings, my mental health… . I’m sad that making great games & promoting them is not enough, that there’s so many games on Steam…🧵5/6.

I would make beautiful games and attract enough players to make a living. I would brush off any negative view of the industry, focusing on making the game & growing social media. In these past months, I realized that no amount of passion… 🧵4/6.

I attended workshops with industry legend Rami Ismail, launched the Steam page, I did everything I could to get wishlists. Since I started making games I naively thought that I would somehow “beat the system”… 🧵3/6.

Almost a year ago, I left a corporate career to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time indie game dev, working on my illustrated text RPG  🔥 DRAKONTIAS…. My game was already 2+ years into development. I hustled: coding & developing non-stop… 🧵2/6.
