Interestingly, a leading Rohingya activist @AdvRaziaSultana recognizes (at last one may say) the Bengali Chittagonian origins of the modern Rohingyas.

@LeiJacq @AdvRaziaSultana is right to argue that the Rohingya have been erased from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I spent some 12 years as a diplomat in those countries and can confirm that there are no Rohingya left there at all. Ho Chi Minh, Norodom Sihanouk and Bhumipol Adulyadej.

No one has cared to consult the Rakhine/Arakanese (as it happens, the majority population) over the last decade and it’s not surprising as they were written out of the NGOs’ mainstreamed victimhood narrative on the Rohingyas.
@LeiJacq @CrisisGroup The international conference to be held in New York on 30 September 2025 under UN auspices about the Situation of the Rohingya and other Minorities will be unusually difficult to organise because there are so many competing voices all claiming to represent the Rohingya.

Activism in the bubble.In the midst of civil war and abysmal misery, UN Women in Myanmar, with ample support of Western Embassies, celebrates “PRIDE Month Yangon”. (Note however that UN Women in Palestine did not declare a “PRIDE Month in Gaza”.).
Surreal!.SAC bombs villages, millions of ppl are displaced, thousands of kids begging in Yangon's streets, but UN & embassies in their bubble push identity politics & performative gender activism. What is their priority? .Only democracy is able to secure rights & bring peace.
