The National Memorial for Peace and Justice overlooks a hilltop in Montgomery. It's the nation's first comprehensive memorial dedicated to the legacy of Black Americans who were enslaved, terrorized by lynching, humiliated by racial segregation, and presumed guilty and dangerous.
