Here’s the postgame explanation from Aaron Boone and Jazz Chisholm Jr. on this double play:. Jazz was trying to “make a play” and run to second, expecting that Xavier Edwards would let this ball drop at second base. Boone didn’t bench Jazz because it wasn’t a case of a player.
