TIL there's a chess AI trained to overcome significant handicaps: https://t.co/6HUHTdxvIT It's fun to lose against this thing! Also this is a relevant datapoint in some discussions about the power of superintelligence.

We're ecstatic to see our open data powering so many strong engines. In the latest CCRL Blitz list alone, at least 20 of the top 80 are 'guilty' of using it, according to this site [ https://t.co/8KfGd1hJLC]. We sincerely hope this number grows!

With all the hype with playing the Leela engine with queens odds, I decided to give it a try. With the time control of 3+1 every tenth game I would relax somewhere early and the engine would trick me with it's crazy tactics, combined with bluffing. Final score: 18:2, humanity

We won't adjust win/draw/loss probabilities by player ratings and the clock at https://t.co/CQo9X09cjt for tomorrow's game, as some people suggested. This also keeps Lc0 from losing the last move's thinking with a new move. Let us know which you prefer!

The Leela Chess Zero team decided to withdraw from participating in the WCCC, as we believe the competition did an unsatisfactory job in evaluating compliance with participant rules. More details here:
lczero.org
The WCCC organizers allowed a clone, ShashChess, to participate as a proxy for Stockfish (that didn’t enter), which we find disrespectful. Consequently, we are withdrawing from the competition.
