This is Sanjay Bharath, an RN for Lee Health. He tested positive for covid-19 and was on a ventilator at GCMC for over a week. This past Tuesday, he was finally DISCHARGED from the hospital!
Ivan Munoz Suarez, a Lee Health employee got to celebrate leaving the intensive care unit at Gulf Coast Medical center after eights days on a ventilator. He is fighting back against covid-19 and we want to give him some love and recognition from the SWFL community!

Fort Myers Police Department arranged their cruisers in the shape of a heart outside a local hospital to thank health care workers for all they do as the battle against COVID-19 rages on.
COVID-19 UPDATE: AUGUST 16, 2021:
The crisis Southwest Florida is facing from the spread of the coronavirus continues to become bleaker by the day. As of this morning, Lee Health is caring for 557 COVID-19 patients in our hospitals including 90 in intensive care.
Less than 50% of Lee County is vaccinated against COVID-19, and getting vaccinated today could be the difference between this surge lasting only weeks instead of months.
Happy Fourth of July! However you decide to celebrate, remember you are doing so in the face of a global pandemic. Consider watching fireworks shows online, and if you must go out, please wear a masks and practicing social distancing.

Watch for Lee Health babies in the Huggies commercial 2nd Quarter! Parents were able to participate if their new babies were born between midnight and 7am today!

The vaccine is in plentiful supply and available on almost every corner – at Publix, Walgreens, CVS and other retailers. We welcome you at Lee Health’s vaccine clinic, which is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. You can make an appointment online or walk-in.

Lee Health received the first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine this morning and will begin administering this afternoon. Gulf Coast Medical Center received 2,295 doses and Cape Coral Hospital received 1,950.
