🔴 Forestry Corporation NSW is logging the den trees of endangered Greater Gliders. Hear from our Campaigns Organiser, Dr Lisa Searle, in the Styx River State Forest, where forest defenders took action to halt destruction today.

Giants like this are still being logged in Lutruwita / Tasmania. This tree, which could be centuries old, is destroyed in seconds. Native forest logging is still propped up by public subsidies while most of what’s logged ends up as woodchips. This destruction must end. #politas

Inside Tasmania’s Parliament: logging deals and champagne. Outside: the truth laid bare — native forest logging is driving species to extinction. #politas

“Yet these bills leave serious gaps: the new regulator lacks independence and appropriate powers, and the minister retains sweeping powers to sidestep environmental protections." https://t.co/rDIEKJQKzB

A message to us all from Bob Brown, as the Environment Minister, Murray Watt, appears set to back two projects with devastating consequences for wildlife. As Bob says, “Don’t get depressed, get active.” https://t.co/L63iirRgCE

Bang, bang ‼️ they shot it down. The ETU sided with the gun lobby to kill a national park taxpayers shelled out $1.2B for …and Labor just walked away - hmmm why?🤔 #springst @SatPaper

The idea that Minister Dimopoulos is tackling the deer 🦌 crisis by opening some parks while blocking others is like trying to put out a house fire by watering the lawn. Victorians aren’t fools, we see the blaze, and we know who’s fanning the flames. 🔥 #springst #gfnp
“Around the country, the shooting lobby have delayed, undermined and stopped effective feral deer control for decades and are the reason feral deer numbers are growing. If the government is serious... they need to stop pandering to the shooting lobby.”

ANALYSIS: The Electrical Trades Union has used its political leverage to keep Victoria’s Central Highlands open for hunting, in the midst of a national backtracking on forest conservation.

How ETU shooters foiled a national park which would have protected Leadbeater’s Possum from the threat of logging. Seriously 💔 The Saturday Paper

This is a picture of hunting in National Parks @Steve_Dimo - what’s your plan to deal with the byproduct? #springst

It is a disgrace. This is happening in the promised Wombat-Lerderderg National Park. It is impossible that this amount of timber removal of fallen trees is for reduction of fire risk – perhaps we should completely clear the forest to eliminate any risk of a bushfire.

More on, so called “Forest Gardening” The latest greenwash to justify logging of Victoria’s native forests #VicPol @Steve_Dimo

Whilst the Victorian Government has said it has stopped native forest logging, all available evidence indicates the opposite. Victorians and Australians need to be aware. #auspol

"Logging under the guise of Forest Gardening, post-storm recovery& fire control, with logs being sold commercially, is poorly regulated with no transparency. Regulation is by the OCR, located in the same agency as those doing the logging"

The Victorian Government claims that it exited native forest logging in 2024. However, it has not legislated this exit. And, notably, logging is continuing through other nefarious and highly cynical...
