Because Hollywood has a long history of bullying and disrespecting writers. Even though they’re only a tiny part of the cost of a movie/show, execs consider them a bother and want to replace them.

Currently, it's the same thing that happened to copywrite it got extended due to lobbing from the studios. It will happen with AI generated scripts.
