For too long, residents had to travel outside town to see a doctor or get the care they need. This new hospital will change that by bringing expert doctors, nurses, and state-of-the-art treatment closer to home.

That’s why our administration is holding Gun Violence Listening Sessions across Delaware. Wilmington will host one on 9/16, and every voice is welcome. Delaware is strong, and we will stop the cycle.

My heart breaks for the lives lost – from leaders and loved ones taken too soon, to children in our schools who should be safe but are not. As an ER doctor, I’ve held victims’ hands, spoken to grieving parents, and seen the devastation up close. It fuels my resolve to act.

When First Spouses from across the country, and party lines, come together with one voice, it’s because the stakes are too high to stay silent. I was proud to join them in signing a letter demanding an end to the gun violence that is tearing families apart and stealing futures.

As an ER doctor, I don’t just pray for gunshot victims. I act. Our job is to save every life in front of us. But the truth is, the time to protect our children from gun violence is before they ever reach the ER. We can’t wait. We must act now.

As an ER Doctor, I know firsthand the challenges our hospitals face when we have too many patients and not enough capacity. The Medicaid cuts in the Budget Reconciliation Bill will flood hospital emergency rooms, increasing wait times and making it harder to provide treatment.

The evidence is clear: gender-affirming care saves lives. Gender-affirming care IS healthcare. This executive order ensures Delaware listens to doctors when it comes to protecting patients and providers. This is what responsible, compassionate healthcare looks like.
