More amazing artworks have been uncovered at Pompeii, buried in an eruption from Mount Vesuvius in AD79. The frescos are among the finest yet found. Figures such as Helen of Troy are depicted on the walls of a large banqueting hall. @BBCNews

Happy to have graduated from @OfficialUoM with an MA in Heritage Studies with distinction! My dissertation explored heritage management at vulnerable sites, at the intersection between public policy, community & sustainable restoration. Excited to see what the future holds!

Dear Friends, (specifically the chronically sick folks…) Please do not allow ANYONE to tell you how lucky you are that your partner has stuck by you, because you’re sick. Don’t! That’s a whole other level of victim shaming and blaming… not to mention somewhat passive

Let's have a moment of appreciation for Barton Arcade. Tucked away between Deansgate and St Ann's Square, the Grade II listed Victorian shopping arcade was inspired by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, which had appeared in British publication The Builder in 1868.

This view on Swan Street in Manchester captures the madness of a city frantically monetising all of its available left-over spaces. The old city becomes a mere stage set - and an extremely fragile-looking one at that.

This is a sewage pumping station from 1865. Why did the Victorians build things like that? Were they just confused? Or did they have the right idea?

Two types of stone restoration at Skipton Town Hall demonstrated by our talented masons. They have used repair mortar to restore the cornice detailing in situ & indented new stone to match the original. #masonryrepair #masonryrestoration #stoneindent #heritagerestoration

I love the reaction of cat lovers upon seeing a cat. Every single time the level of excitement is like they've read about cats for decades but never actually seen one in real life and they're SO EXCITED. Every. Single Time. Even if it's the hundredth cat they've seen that day.
