Today our #GeneEdited camelina was sown at @Rothamsted! Using CRISPR-Cas9, we have generated larger seeds by silencing genes in seed coat development. Given the recent secondary legislation for the #PrecisionBreeding Act, we are excited to see how our lines develop in the field!

Proud to have participated in @RoyalSocBio 'Voice of The Future 2025' event last month as the @AABiologists rep. I asked MPs how ECRs can get involved in policy decisions on genome edited crops - go to 59:35 to hear my question & the panel's response!

#AgriFoodBecause My PhD is focused on increasing seed yields. I work with the model plant Arabidopsis, and crops such as Brassica (pictured) and rice to try and increase the number of seeds or the size of seeds produced by these plants.

Harvest home! Always inspiring to see our GM field trial safely completed for another year. This was our biggest camelina trial yet, with gene-edited lines and GM+GE stacks. It's still a thrill to see GM in the field, and great that more of us @Rothamsted get to do that now.
